Your RV gets a little less clean during each RV trip. It’s easy for dirt, mud, crumbs, and other bits of debris to slowly build up inside. Before you know it, your beloved second home looks…less than ideal. Left too long, caked-on gunk can even cause expensive damage. That’s why regularly cleaning your RV is an essential part of RV maintenance. Read on for key RV cleaning tips.
Check The Owner’s Manual
Always check the owner’s manual to see if there are any specific products to avoid or to focus on using. There may be unique materials in your RV that require special care. Failing to take this step can result in expensive (and preventable) damage.
The Vents
It’s easy to forget about the ceiling vents. These should be cleaned occasionally. Wash out the screens, clean the filters, and clean inside the vent. It’s also helpful to leave the vents open for a bit, which will help them dry faster.
The Living Room
Once a week, try to dust the surfaces. Remember to wipe down the blinds and the cabinet tops, which is where dust can easily build up. Then wipe or brush the couches and chairs. If the furniture has microfiber coverings, you can spray them with rubbing alcohol. Then lightly scrub with a cleaning brush to tackle any stains. Then vacuum the carpet or sweep the floor, depending on what your living room has. If there is built up clutter, such as scattered board games or books, put those away now.
